Tomorrow Sells A-COLD-WALL* Just Nine Months After Buying the Brand
Tomorrow London has sold A-COLD-WALL* to the Frasers-backed distribution group agency Four Marketing, just nine months after buying 100% of the technical fashion brand founded by Samuel Ross.
Ross, who launched A-COLD-WALL* in 2015, exited the company at the time of Tomorrow's acquisition. He later launched a new venture, titled Samuel Ross_Atelier, and he released his first collection under his new banner in September.
At the time of the acquisition, Tomorrow's CEO Stefano Martinetto opted not to appoint a new creative director in Ross' place, explaining that the label would instead operate with a "collective approach" to honing the brand's sartorial vision.
In 2018, Tomorrow acquired a “substantial minority stake” in Ross’ brand, becoming its “global exclusive licensee” as the company’s “first move into a trademark co-ownership.” The company did not disclose terms of that initial deal, nor did they disclose the details of the acquisition or the most recent sale to Four Marketing.
Per WWD, Martinetto stated that his relationship with Four Marketing's CEO Ben Banks was important in the brand's "transition into such capable hands." He added that "the strength of Four Marketing’s supply chain operations, strong retail presence and direct-to-consumer expertise will be pivotal as A-Cold-Wall embarks on its next stage of growth."
In the deal, Tomorrow will still distribute A-COLD-WALL* outside of the UK.
