Typhoon Kong-rey downgraded to tropical storm

Taipei, Nov. 1 (CNA) Typhoon Kong-rey was downgraded to a tropical storm on Friday morning after making landfall in Taitung County in southeastern Taiwan on Thursday afternoon, the Central Weather Administration (CWA) said.
