How to complete Regrets of the Dread Wolf in Dragon Age: The Veilguard - Wolf Statuettes locations

The Dragon Age: The Veilguard Regrets of the Dread Wolf quest involves searching for six Wolf Statuettes that have been lost through time. Once you've obtained one, the quest will appear in your journal and you can track it to show the locations of the other objects. Here's a quick summary:

One statuette is given to you as part of a main quest. The remaining five are found in the Crossroads, so be sure to defeat the champions. They grant you essences that unlock new areas. Two are obtained as part of regular exploration.Three are acquired at the end of "dream sequences" where you learn about Solas' plans to trap Elgar'nan and Ghillan'nain.

Wolf Statuette #1: The Inquisitor

This Dragon Age: The Veilguard Wolf Statuette comes from the Inquisitor themselves. As you progress further into the campaign, you'll receive a main quest called Shades of the Blight, which requires you to meet Morrigan and the Inquisitor in Dock Town. After a short chat, the Inquisitor gives you a Wolf Statuette, a memento from Solas.

Wolf Statuette #2: Converged City exploration

After defeating the Darkspawn Champion in Dock Town, you'll be able to unlock the Gate of Lost Ages. This is a small area in the Converged City, the first floating island that you visited in the Crossroads. Solve the crystal/beam puzzle until you gain access to the cliffside section at the opposite side. You should then see a Wolf Statuette across a Fen'harel Statue.

Wolf Statuette #3: Converged City dream sequence

There's also another statuette for the Dragon Age: The Veilguard Regrets of the Dread Wolf quest can be found in the Converged City. This one is in the main section with the shops, which was previously inaccessible. Complete the tasks here and defeat the enemies until you reach the very end.

Wolf Statuette #4: Heights of Athim dream sequence

This Wolf Statuette is in the Heights of Athim, the floating island to the northeast. Follow the snowy path that takes you to the center, then the south, to start the dream sequence.

Wolf Statuette #5: Elv'henan's Haven dream sequence

This Wolf Statuette is found in a dream sequence in Elv'henan's Haven, which is the island at the right-hand side of the map. As you're making your way to the north past the inaccessible Gate of Parched Hope section, you should see a path to your left. This leads to a dream sequence that you need to complete.

Wolf Statuette #6: Elv'henan's Haven exploration

The sixth Wolf Statuette in Dragon Age: The Veilguard can be yours while exploring Elv'henan's Haven in the Crossroads. From the central area, make your way north until you spot a Wolf Statuette on an altar. As you approach the object, you'll realize that it's a trap. Defeat the enemies and proceed to the next section, where you need to make statues turn so that they face each other. This allows you to reach the rock formation to the north, which happens to have a Fen'harel Statue token and the real Wolf Statuette.

A glimpse into Solas' past

Each Wolf Statuette that you obtain helps you progress further into the Dragon Age: The Veilguard Regrets of the Dread Wolf quest. You can place these on altars in the Lighthouse's main hall--i.e. those on the ground floor and up the steps. These trigger cutscenes where you'll learn about Solas' plots, his connection to Mythal, and why he imprisoned the other gods. Your companions will also make remarks and you can respond to them in kind.

A meeting with Morrigan

After you've watched all six cutscenes from the Wolf Statuettes that you've placed in the Lighthouse, return to the first area in the Crossroads. There, you'll have a chat with Morrigan. You can learn about the other happenings in Thedas, as well as her own connection to Solas.

How to convince Mythal without fighting

Morrigan will remove the seals of a nearby path, one that leads to a large snowy area. At the end of this path, you'll find a fragment of Mythal's spirit. You're given the opportunity to convince Mythal to give you her power. Here are the correct answers in your conversation with Mythal in Dragon Age: The Veilguard:

"I want your help.""We must stop the blight." -> "You stood against it.""We must stop the gods." -> "They wronged you.""We are worthy." -> "Building a safe place."

Choosing the above responses causes Mythal to find you worthy. She'll then give you a unique weapon: Mythal's Light. This weapon is integral for the game's finale and it also has the following effects:

Physical damage: 0Stagger: 450Deals +80 fire, necrotic, electricity, and cold damage

Basically, you won't do any physical damage to targets. However, you'll still hit them with elemental effects, barring resistances. As an aside, if you explore the arena, you'll see a path that leads to a treasure chest. It contains a unique amulet called A Pale Reflection:

+20% damage against enemies with low healthStandard/non-boss enemies are always considered to have low healthGain +5% ultimate whenever you defeat an enemy

What happens if you can't convince Mythal

If you choose the wrong replies when talking to Mythal, she'll get angry and change into her dragon form. You'll have no choice but to fight Mythal's Retribution, a level 45 dragon boss. Needless to say, you'll have your work--and your innards--cut out for you.

That does it for our guide on how to complete Regrets of the Dread Wolf in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. The Mythal's Light weapon is extremely handy later in the campaign. Don't forget that it's just one of many unique items that you can find in the game.

The lands of Thedas are under threat from formidable foes, including some menacing elven gods, and it's up to Rook and their allies to save the day. For more tips and tactics, you can visit our Dragon Age: The Veilguard guides hub.
