On 14 October 2024, long-time owner Carrie Carter handed over the reins to Sarah Toxward and Angela Pennefather, marking an exciting chapter for the company as it continues as a fully female-led enterprise.

A Unique Journey: Sarah Toxward’s Rise in the Maritime World

Sarah Toxward, one of the new owners, has a story that’s as fascinating as the waters she’s navigated. Growing up on a farm in New Zealand, Sarah developed a deep love for the ocean early on, learning to dive in freezing 10-degree waters. Her adventurous spirit led her to pursue a Master’s degree in Conservation Management and travel extensively across the globe.

Sarah’s impressive career began as a dive instructor in Cairns, where she also worked as a trip director for liveaboards, underwater photographer, and reef educator.
