Coronation Street's Bethany discovers Nathan's attacker - as unlikely resident 'exposed'

Bethany Platt believes she knows the person who attacked Nathan Curtis in Coronation Street. Nathan (played by Chris Harper) recently made his way back to the Cobbles after spending more than five years in prison.

Introduced in 2016, Nathan quickly caught the eye of teenager Bethany (Lucy Fallon). It was revealed that Nathan had sinister intentions regarding Bethany, as he was part of a gang that groomed young girls.

He was eventually handed a custodial sentence for his crimes, but has since been released and is roaming around Weatherfield once again.

Bethany spotted Nathan at the reconstruction of Lauren Bolton's (Cait Fitton) last known movements during Wednesday’s instalment (May 8) of the soap, and voiced her suspicions that he was involved in her disappearance.

Next week, determined to expose Nathan's connection to Lauren, Bethany quizzes Craig (Colson Smith) about his alibi.

When Craig lets slip that Nathan was with his girlfriend and she works at a nail bar in town, Bethany points out that he was running a tanning salon when he groomed her.

As Daniel (Rob Mallard) and Bethany head out, they’re shocked to be confronted by Nathan, who rails at Bethany for harassing his girlfriend.

In the Rovers, David (Jack P. Shepherd), Sarah (Tina O'Brien) and Gary (Mikey North) discuss Nathan and agree that something has to be done before he ruins Bethany’s life all over again.

On the building site, Nathan’s seen packing up as a hooded figure approaches and strikes him over the head. Nathan collapses unconscious.

As Bethany mulls over who Nathan’s attacker might be, Shona (Julia Goulding) quizzes David about the stain on his jeans, not convinced by his story.

While David assures Bethany and Sarah he’s innocent, they’re interrupted by Shona, who shows the tracking app on David’s phone, which proves he was at the building site when Nathan was attacked.

David admits he witnessed the attack but wasn’t responsible, leaving Bethany convinced that Daniel is to blame. Will she be proven right?

Coronation Street continues Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV from 8pm.
