First look as Piers Morgan's explosive 'real Martha' interview as she gives brutal reply

Piers Morgan interviews 'real Martha' from Baby Reindeer

Piers Morgan has teased fans with a first look of his interview with Baby Reindeer's 'real life' Martha in her first television appearance since internet sleuths hunted her down. Piers sparked a frenzy on Wednesday when he first teased that he had secured an exclusive chat with the woman we're choosing not to name.

From his TalkTV Uncensored's Twitter page on Thursday, Piers, 59, has since gone on to tease fans further by dropping a trailer from the interview alongside the caption: "The 'real Martha' from Baby Reindeer. Premiering on Piers Morgan Uncensored at 8pm (UK)."

In the 58-second long trailer, multiple people, including Lorraine Kelly and the show's creator and lead actor Richard Gadd, are seen reacting to the hype of the show before the camera turns onto Piers in the studio.

The presenter is then heard asking 'Martha' various questions including why she decided to go public, her true feelings towards Richard Gadd as well as whether or not she turned up to his house, as dramatised in the Netflix show.

Ending the trailer on a cliff-hanger, Piers urges his guest to share what she wanted to say to those who still doubted her down the camera and following that moment, her identity is revealed. Piers' announcement has certainly been a talking point on social media with many sharing mixed reviews over his decision to interview her.

One social media user on the platform X wrote: "Not sure how I feel about Martha appearing tonight as from one story she seems very ill. Will tune in to watch Piers tonight to see her point of view."

A second commented: "This is going to be epic," while a third added: "I mean, I'll definitely watch it, but, I thought the Netflix show was rubbish."

A fourth wrote: "This is unacceptable and exploitative. Re-traumatising Richard Gadd by giving his abuser and stalker a voice is a new low, even for you Piers. She needs medical help not a platform! Come on, where's the humanity?"

Another typed: "Only you would re-traumatise a male victim because he dared speak out against harassment and abuse. Well done Piers, a new low I see."

Baby Reindeer is said to be inspired by Richard's experience with a stalker and the toll it took on his overall life after she harassed him relentlessly.

In the series, he plays a fictionalised version of himself named Donny Dunn who meets Martha (played by Jessica Gunning) at a pub he worked at.

After Martha tells him she can't afford a drink, he offers her a cup of tea on the house out of good will but soon regrets his decision.

From that moment on, Martha becomes obsessed and some of her actions include sending him 41,000 emails and 350 hours of voicemails.

With the drama growing more and more popular, Richard has asked eager viewers hunting down the people behind the story to stop speculating.

Issuing a statement on Instagram, he wrote: "Hi everyone. People I love, have worked with, and admire (including Sean Foley) are unfairly getting caught up in speculation. Please don’t speculate on who the real life people could be. That’s not the point of our show. Lots of love."

Meanwhile, the 'real life' Martha has since accused Piers of manipulating her in the interview and has branded him "a bully".

He is yet to respond to the claims on social media or to Express.co.uk following a request for comment.
