ITV This Morning fans 'switch off' as soap segment switch-up sparks backlash

Soap expert Sharon talks about what's coming up on Corrie

As another episode of This Morning aired on ITV, viewers threatened to switch off after the show aired a soap segment with expert Sharon Marshall.

The soap expert regularly appears on the morning programme to offer the latest gossip and spoilers in the world of Coronation Street, Emmerdale, EastEnders and Hollyoaks.

Sharon appeared on the sofa as she spoke to stand-in hosts Craig Doyle and Josie Gibson. However, fans of the show weren't happy with the segment as they flocked to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their grievances.

One person expressed: "Cannot stand this 15 mins of soap guff every week. Sure i am not the only one. Gonna go do some washing up. #thismorning."

Another fan penned: "What a load of old c**p, they really are completely out of ideas aren't they on #ThisMorning ffs."
