Lorraine Kelly viewers say same thing as replacement steps in after ITV host goes missing

Christine Lampard replaced Lorraine Kelly on her self-titled programme.

The on-screen host regularly fills in for the veteran broadcaster when she's on holiday or away from the ITV daytime show but some viewers issued a similar complaint following the Scottish-born star's absence.

@CharlesPizza993 tweeted: "Looks like Lorraine will be there 3 days in a row."

@@GodsmarkJonny joked: "Soon… [Lorraine and friends]."

While others praised Christine, who stepped in during Monday's edition of the show, as @Patrici26413147 said: "Christine Lampard should be the full-time presenter. Because she is a brilliant host; plain and very pretty. Always a joy to see on TV. Christine and Frank could be the new Richard and Judy."

@JOEMS2020 added: "Christine’s back [hands in the air emoji] #Lorraine."

It is not uncommon for main presenters to take time away from the hosting duties and a replacement step in and front the programme with Good Morning Britain's Ranvir Singh hosting Lorraine on Fridays.

Lorraine has not addressed her show absence on social media but Christine later clarified at the end of the programme the main host will return to the programme on Tuesday (May 7).

Christine told viewers: "Amy Dowden and Scott Mills join Lorraine tomorrow. Enjoy your bank holiday."

Lorraine airs weekdays on ITV at 9am
