Coronation Street's Lauren true killer 'exposed' as Bethany makes accusation

Coronation Street's Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) accuses Nathan Curtis (Chris Harper) of Lauren Bolton's (Cait Fitton) murder next week. Viewers of the ITV soap are aware that Lauren (Cait Fitton) has been missing for months and is presumed dead.

Roy Cropper (David Neilson) is currently in prison for her murder. But in upcoming scenes of the soap, Bethany believes Lauren was killed by someone else as she comes face to face with her abuser Nathan.

Nathan first arrived in Weatherfield in 2016 and took an interest in Bethany. Eerily similar to Lauren's situation with her unknown boyfriend, Nathan showered Bethany with lavish gifts, including a necklace.

His intentions turned out to be much more sinister as it was revealed the character was part of a gang that groomed young girls. After abusing Bethany for several months, Nathan was eventually arrested and served with a custodial sentence.

Next week, Bobby Crawford (Jack Carroll), Max Turner (Paddy Beaver), Bethany and Beth Tinker (Lisa George) gather in the precinct to watch the police reconstruction of Lauren’s last known movements.

Bethany notices a crowd of people and is horrified when she spots Nathan amongst them. As Bethany struggles to contain her emotions, Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) finds her at home clearly distressed.When Bethany says she saw Nathan at the precinct, Daniel assures her that he is in prison and it was her mind playing tricks. Later, Nicky Wheatley (Kimberly Hart-Simpson) calls round and reveals that she’s off to meet a girl called Ellie who was groomed as a teenager, believing she might have information about Lauren.As Daniel continues insisting it’s Bethany's mind playing tricks on her, she pauses the video of the police reconstruction and zooms in to show Daniel a close up of Nathan.

In the police station, DS Swain confirms to Bethany that Nathan was released months ago. A furious Bethany urges her to haul him in for questioning, convinced he’s Lauren’s murderer.

After doing some research and discovering that Nathan is working on a building site near the precinct, Bethany and Daniel track him down.

As Nathan rounds the corner, he stops in his tracks. Bethany’s shocked to come face to face with her abuser. Bethany sees red and accuses Nathan of murdering Lauren.
