Emmerdale double exit 'sealed' as Manpreet Sharma's betrayal causes uproar

Emmerdale's Manpreet Sharma (played by Rebecca Sarker) made a move on married villager Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) on the ITV soap on Monday evening's episode.

She was drinking with her pals in The Woolpack as she cosied up to Billy, who is married to Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley).

Speaking outside of the pub, newcomer Ella Forster (Paula Lane) asked a rather drunk Manpreet: "So it is just a crush? You've not done anything?"

Manpreet, who is in a relationship with the village vicar, replied: "He's oblivious and I am committed to Charles, there is no way anything would happen."

Ella said: "Well, I am really glad you know it's wrong Manpreet, just put it down as a life experience. Come on, wine won't drink itself."

Manpreet explained she and Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin) have been "really distant" and admitted she started to fancy Billy when he was playing her compliments in the gym she'd joined.

Later on, a very tipsy Manpreet stumbled out of the pub and begged Billy to stay for one more drink as she linked arms with him.

She was paying him compliments before she tried to kiss him on the lips without realising Charle's mother Claudette Anderson (Flo Wilson) was watching them from the pub doorway.

A shocked Billy told Manpreet to "get a grip" of herself before he walked away, leaving her feeling totally humiliated.

Emmerdale fans flocked to Twitter to comment on Manpreet being rejected by Billy, with Michelle writing: "Claudette watching #emmerdale..." (sic)

A second shared: "#Emmerdale Glad Claudette saw that, Manpreet!"A third commented: "Claudette is always lurking #Emmerdale." 

Teena noted: "Of course, Claudette was lurking to see Manpreet all over Billy…#emmerdale."

Will Claudette end up telling her son Charles about Manpreet's actions? Could Manpreet end up leaving the village after feeling humiliated?

Perhaps there will be a double exit, as Billy might end up leaving the Yorkshire Dales if his partner Dawn doesn't believe him about the kiss.
