Lorraine Kelly will be temporarily replaced by a guest host whilst she takes leave during the school holidays. Her role is reportedly set to be filled by Strictly Come Dancing star Michelle Visage as she takes time off.

The ITV anchor regularly takes leave in line with the school term time, which often means that she is away from her position for up to six weeks during the year.

RuPaul's Drag Race star Michelle Visage has become a firm favourite with Brits since she appeared on Strictly Come Dancing in 2019. She made it to week nine before being eliminated.

A source said to The Mirror: "ITV has lined up Michelle Visage as a part-time host for its morning chat show Lorraine. She will be hosting the show during a one-off summertime special. She joins the show in a bid to keep it interesting over the summer months."

Lorraine has previously been replaced by the likes of Christine Lampard, Ranvir Singh and Louise Minchin. Her breakfast show first launched in September 2010 and broadcasts live every week at 9am on ITV.

The source added: "Michelle is thrilled to have been given this opportunity. She's a natural presenter and a huge fan of the show so it's a perfect fit."

Michelle previously appeared as a guest on Lorraine in 2019 after she admitted that she was left out of the Strictly Live! Tour.

She first rose to fame as a member of the dance-pop girl group Seduction during the 1980s and 90s.

The American singer spends weeks at a time filming in the United Kingdom whilst her husband David Case stays in Los Angeles. She is a permanent judge on the BBC series RuPaul's Drag Race UK.

Michelle, who grew up in New Jersey, met David when she was singing in the girl band Seduction.
