Jeremy Clarkson says 'I can't do this anymore' in emotional Clarkson's Farm declaration

Clarkson's Farm returns in season three trailer from Prime Video

Clarkson's Farm star Jeremy Clarkson broke down in a rare show of emotion in season three of the reality show confessing, "I can't do this." The former Top Gear presenter referred to raising pigs, which is a new enterprise at the heart of the series.

His outburst came at the end of a dramatic few episodes which saw him witness the circle of life. As sows on his farm were giving birth to new litters of adorable piglets, he was taking delivery from the butcher of products made from two of his pigs which he had slaughtered.

Jeremy was astonished at the amount of produce derived from the two pigs and considered the financial value of it. While he was chuffed to be complimented about the level of care he had given to his pigs, shown by the amount of fat on the pork products, it also caused him to ponder.

He ruminated on the reality of raising an animal only to slaughter it. "One of the things I can't get my head around is we're having a really tottering time with piglet births, really tottering," he said.

"So you're up all night nurturing these pigs and trying to keep them warm and trying to make them comfortable and trying to make them alive. And then you break off to come here and receive all this," he exclaimed pointing out the meat bounty.

"There's only one expression to think of it... it's farmer logic. Because you love animals. All farmers love their animals and then they kill them and sell them," he pondered.

Following the delivery, Jeremy was seen looking after a piglet in his office keeping it warm next to the stove as he worked.

He and his girlfriend Lisa Hogan wrapped up the tiny creature in a towel to keep it warm as they soothed it.

Faced with the juxtaposition of caring for the pigs and also slaughtering them, Jeremy made his declaration.

"Teary eyed he said: "I can't do this. I can't have pigs anymore they are a nightmare. I like them too much."

Season three of the reality shows follows the Who Wants To Be A Millionaire host as he adds pigs into his farming equation.

Entitled "The Pig One" viewers will see Jeremy's journey as he breeds his sows and raises the animals until it is time to slaughter them.

Season 3 of Clarkson's Farm hits Prime Video on May 3rd.
