Norse Atlantic to launch Gatwick-Cape Town route

Norse Atlantic Airways has announced its latest route launch, with flights between Gatwick and Cape Town set to commence later this year.

The thrice-weekly service will operate from Gatwick on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday from 28 October, with return fares starting from £499 in economy and £1,199 in Premium.

Flights will depart Gatwick at 2000, arriving into Cape Town at 0930 the following day, with the return leg leaving the South African city at 1145, arriving back into London at 2135.

British Airways and Virgin Atlantic both operate flights from London Heathrow to Cape Town, while BA also offers a seasonal service from Gatwick.

The news follows Norse’s announcement earlier this year that it would operate four flights per week between Gatwick and Lagos on behalf of Air Peace.

Commenting on the news Bjorn Tore Larsen, CEO and founder of Norse Atlantic Airways, said:

“We are thrilled to introduce our new route between London and Cape Town. By breaking the duopoly on this route, we are not only expanding travel options for consumers but also driving down costs and putting the customer back in the pilot’s seat.

“At Norse Atlantic Airways, we believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to experience the wonders of the world and our new route to Cape Town will allow many more people to visit this amazing destination.”

Norse also recently announced plans to launch flights between Gatwick and Las Vegas from 12 September.
