Eastern Airways to restart Aberdeen-Teesside route

Eastern Airways has announced plans to resume flights between Aberdeen and Teesside airports later this month.

The carrier will operate six flights per week on the route (weekdays and Sundays) from 20 May, increasing to twice daily from 9 September.

The full schedules for the service can be seen in the tables below.

Eastern Airways previously operated the route between 2001 and 2022, and the carrier also offers seasonal flights between Teesside and Jersey.

Loganair has been flying between Aberdeen and Teesside, but recently announced plans to cut the route along with several others, as it seeks to address “unacceptable levels of disruption that have been experienced for over 18 months whilst the airline has been undertaking a re-fleeting programme”.

Commenting on the news Eastern Airways commercial director Roger Hage said:

“We have been operating from Teesside every year since 2001 so returning to the Aberdeen service from 20 May restores familiarity to many faces we have welcomed on-board for many years.

“We more than any operator know the value of connecting the UK’s energy capital Aberdeen to significant employment centres throughout the UK so adding Teesside to our growing route mix, while also operating services such as Amsterdam on behalf of KLM and the summer seasonal Jersey flights with the addition of Aberdeen all help ensure the long-term future of connectivity from the wider regions of Teesside, North Yorkshire and South Tyneside to the North East of Scotland.”

Eastern Airways recently switched its flights from East Midlands and Southampton to Paris to the main hub of Charles de Gaulle airport, “following the securing of rare landing and take off slots”.
