On 27 April, Singapore’s Changi airport welcomed Air Japan’s inaugural flight to Singapore.
Air Japan now offers five weekly services between Tokyo Narita (NRT) and Singapore on its Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft.
Six carriers are now operating approximately 160 flights a week between Japan and Singapore
Air Japan, an All Nippon Airways (ANA) subsidiary, operates under a low-cost model, similar to rival Japan Airlines’ Zipair brand.
Air Japan’s 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft are single class, with 324 seats in a standard 3-3-3 configuration with 17.5in in seat width and 32in in seat pitch.
Singapore is Air Japan’s third destination from Narita following Bangkok and Seoul Incheon.
In other Changi airport news, British Airways earlier this month brought back its iconic Airbus A380 to Singapore.
In the current summer schedule, the daily BA11 and BA12 services between Singapore and London’s Heathrow are once again being operated by the A380, marking the first return of the British Airways superjumbo to Singapore since 2020.
Alongside Singapore Airlines, Qantas, and Emirates, British Airways was the fourth carrier to reinstate the double decker to Singapore.
