Swerve Strickland is still the AEW World Champion after retaining his title in a surprise defense on AEW Collision. Earlier in the night, Swerve spoke about winning the title at Dynasty and issued an open challenge, which was accepted by Claudio Castagnoli. The match was made for the night’s main event. Swerve ended up winning with the Swerve Stomp and House Call.
Strickland has been champion for six days after winning it from Samoa Joe at Dynasty last Sunday.
