Following his 26th Masters appearance in April, golf legend Tiger Woods has outlined his plans to compete in three more major tournaments over the next three months. Despite admitting to feeling "sore" after his stint at Augusta National, the star remains optimistic about his upcoming schedule.

Woods has sparked excitement among golf enthusiasts with his commitment to participate in three additional majors, maintaining his strategy of competing once a month. "The next three months, I have three majors and hopefully that'll all work out," he shared during an interview on The Today Show.

The 48 year old made waves at Augusta by qualifying for the 24th consecutive time, demonstrating his enduring skill despite concluding the tournament with the highest score of his career. "It's consistency, it's longevity, and it's an understanding of how to play this golf course," Woods commented on his Masters record.

He added: "Now, you still have to go out and execute it, but there's a lot of knowledge that goes into understanding how to play (Augusta National). ...That's the neat thing about this.

"I can still go through the mental Rolodex and bring out a few putts from the '90s that still move generally in that direction and the effect that Rae's Creek has on certain shots and putts. And it means a lot."

Woods is gearing up for a robust return to the greens, revealing his summer strategy to ramp up practice sessions and bolster his fitness.

"I'm just going to keep lifting, keep the motor going, keep the body moving, keep getting stronger, keep progressing," declared Woods post-Masters, hinting at more intensive training ahead: "Hopefully, the practice sessions will keep getting longer."

Yet, Woods' focus isn't solely on swinging clubs; he's taken a pivotal role in steering golf's future, engaging in critical talks with LIV Golf amidst ongoing PGA Tour negotiations.

Woods' commitment to the PGA Tour remains unwavering, even as he sits down with Yasir Al-Rumayyan, head of Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, to negotiate a path beneficial to all. "I don't know if we're closer, but certainly we're headed in the right direction," Woods optimistically noted about the discussions.

"That was a very positive meeting, and I think both sides came away from the meeting feeling positive."

Despite the allure of LIV Golf and its lucrative offers, Woods, alongside Rory McIlroy, has resisted overtures, maintaining allegiance to the PGA Tour unlike many peers who succumbed to the Saudi-backed circuit's enticements last year. The PGA Tour faced another jolt when Jon Rahm, a former Masters champion, defected in December 2023.

However, the PGA Tour has rewarded those who remained loyal with a significant payout following a recent investment. Woods is set to pocket a cool $100 million (£80m), while McIlroy is expected to take home $50 million (£40m).
