GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Florida put out its official roster for the start of spring practice, revealing jersey numbers for its early-enrollee freshmen and transfers.

Quarterback Emory Jones will sport No. 14, taking former QB Luke Del Rio’s old number. Running back Iverson Clement is No. 24. Running back Dameon Pierce is No. 29, doubling up with safety Jeawon Taylor. Safety Amari Burney is No. 30. Defensive back Trey Dean is No. 35. Offensive lineman Noah Banks is 55, doubling up with defensive tackle Kyree Campbell. Offensive lineman Chris Bleich is No. 67. Wide receiver Trevon Grimes is No. 81, taking former wideout Antonio Callaway’s number. Wide receiver Van Jefferson is No. 87.

Mullen also gave an injury report of the players who will be limited or out during spring practice.

As expected, running back Malik Davis (knee) and offensive lineman Brett Heggie (knee) are out for spring. Campbell is also is also “out for a little bit of spring” with an unspecified injury. Defensive end Keivonnis Davis will also be out, but Mullen offered some encouraging news on the redshirt junior, who sustained a serious scooter accident last fall. Mullen confirmed that Davis, who was also suspended all of last season, has been fully reinstated to the program while noting, “He’s just recovered and started to work out. He’s probably behind all those other guys and just getting into working out. There’s actually positive hope that he might be able to make it back.”

Mullen was asked about players changing positions and cross-training at multiple positions.

Here’s what Mullen said about guys changing positions: “I don’t think so. I don’t know where everybody was, so… I have a good idea where they’re going to be, so I guess there could be some position changes without me knowing we actually changed their position. You’re going to play at this position. We’ve told them where they’re all going to play, so that might involve some changing from where they were in the past.” He was also asked specifically about which defensive ends, in addition to senior CeCe Jefferson, will also get work at outside linebacker. He said Jachai Polite and Jabari Zuniga could, but Antonneous Clayton will not. He also mentioned linebacker Jeremiah Moon will do some cross-training between the two spots. Mullen also confirmed that junior Chauncey Gardner-Johnson (official name change) will remain at safety. “He’s going to be more safety and possibly nickel within the scheme that we play. That’s where we’re going to kind of start him at.”
