  • AC Milan have dropped their interest in Zlatan Ibrahimovic
  • They are now looking to sign Divock Origi or Daniel Sturridge
  • Rangers have made Dominic Solanke their top target
  • Liverpool will NOT recall Harry Wilson from his loan spell at Derby

Wanted: Liverpool pair

AC Milan have dropped their interest in Zlatan Ibrahimovic to focus on two Liverpool forwards.

Zlatan, 37, was in advanced talks to spend a second spell at the San Siro - but negotiations broke down with Corriere dello Sport claiming AC Milan were worried about his fitness.

The Italian newspaper says sporting director Leonardo is now looking for alternatives.

And Liverpool duo Divock Origi and Daniel Sturridge are on his radar.

Harry Wilson loan

Liverpool will NOT recall Harry Wilson from his loan spell at Derby.

Recent reports have claimed that Anfield bosses have the option to bring the 21-year-old winger back in January.

But The Telegraph reporter John Percy says that Liverpool are pleased with Wilson’s development under Frank Lampard, and his prominent role in the side.

Wilson has scored eight goals and provided two assists in 18 appearances.

City not rattled

Jurgen Klopp does not think Premier League leaders Manchester City are feeling the pressure of Liverpool maintaining their chase - even if his side go top of the table.

An early start at Bournemouth on Saturday means the Reds could overtake their rivals, who have an evening kick-off at fourth-placed Chelsea, but the German does not believe that will have much effect.

City have won 13 of their 15 matches - Liverpool's best start to a season in their history has seen them win 12 - and already scored 15 more goals than their fellow unbeaten rivals.

"I don't think (Manchester City) feel pressure! They don't look like they do," said Klopp.

"That's not the first target anyway, the first target is to try to perform on the highest level, because it's needed at Bournemouth. Eddie is doing a fantastic job there, and it will be difficult enough."

Steven Gerrard wants Dominic Solanke

Rangers have made Dominic Solanke their top target for next month’s January transfer window.

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard is keen for more fire power to help a title challenge with Celtic.

Gerrard has been a big backer of Alfredo Morelos, who leads the Scottish Premiership scoring charts with nine goals.

But his red card on Wednesday night against Aberdeen has put him in the dog house.

And Rangers are now prioritising a forward to compete with Morelos and Kyle Lafferty next month.

But Rangers face competition from Premier League sides Wolves and Huddersfield for the former Chelsea ace.

Klopp responds

Jurgen Klopp has hit back at Burnley manager Sean Dyche for claiming Daniel Sturridge is a cheat.

Liverpool forward Sturridge was accused of diving as the Reds swept past Burnley in their Premier League clash on Wednesday night.

Speaking after a high-octane game at Turf Moore, Dyche hit out at the England international by saying: "I was a little confused. I couldn't make out what part of that was right and wrong.

"What I would say is this, and I think it's important to register, there were some excellent tackles last night. He [Klopp] didn't reference Daniel Sturridge's cheating when he went down, nothing near him, and he got a free-kick for it."

But Klopp has hit back at Dyche now.

The Liverpool boss said: "Daniel Sturridge is not a cheat. I’m not sure whether he (Dyche) spoke about the challenge of Bardsley on Moreno. What can I say?

“Sometimes a striker expects a tackle and tries to avoid it by jumping.”
