Kentucky sophomore defensive back Kei Beckham is transferring, a UK spokesperson confirmed on Wednesday.
Beckham, from Dayton, Ohio, played one game last season and recorded two tackles. He hadn’t played so far in 2017 and wasn’t listed on Kentucky’s roster ahead of the Wildcats’ game Saturday at South Carolina.
Beckham was a 3-star prospect coming out of high school. He was the 58th-ranked cornerback in the 2015 class, according to 247Sports composite rankings.
Beckham’s departure won’t affect Kentucky’s depth as he hadn’t carved out any sort of a role.
Kentucky is off to a 2-0 start this season. The Wildcats play South Carolina at 7:30 p.m. ET Saturday in Columbia.
