AUBURN, Ala. — Auburn softball’s most decorated player of all-time is headed to the pros, and she’ll reunite with a former teammate in the corner infield.
Kasey Cooper has signed a professional deal with the Scrap Yard Dawgs of National Pro Fastpitch, according to an announcement from Auburn. Cooper will be teammates at the Texas-based club with former Auburn first baseman Jade Rhodes, who graduated in 2016.
Cooper broke multiple school records in her 257 games with the program across four years. The former national player of the year is also the SEC’s all-time leader in RBI and one of two players in conference history with 250 hits and 250 RBI.

The former Auburn third baseman is the second member of the Tigers’ 2017 class to go pro this summer. Shortstop Haley Fagan recently joined her sister with the Akron Racers. Former Auburn players Angel Bunner and Emily Carosone are also in NPF with Cooper, Rhodes and Fagan.
Cooper is currently touring with Team USA softball. The national team will be at Auburn’s Jane B. Moore Field this Saturday, July 22, in an exhibition doubleheader against an Alabama collegiate all-star squad.
