After the controversy about a lack of tickets for last season’s Champions League final in Madrid, UEFA are confident they will be able to satisfy the demands from both clubs this time, according to the Daily Mirror.

Liverpool seem certain to take as many as possible but it remains to be seen how many Chelsea will ultimately request for the big game at the Vodafone Park in Istanbul.

There was immense controversy ahead of the Reds’ 2-0 victory over Premier League rivals Tottenham in the Champions League final at the Wanda Metropolitano.

UEFA issued only 16,613 tickets available for both sets of fans in Atletico Madrid’s 68,000-seater stadium.

There were also issues in the Europa League final in Baku between Chelsea and Arsenal with only 6,000 fans from each club able to attend due to issues travelling to Azerbaijan.

The Champions League and Europa League winners will have to decide how many tickets they want for the Super Cup final and it is likely that their demands will be met.

Liverpool made it to the Champions League final by beating the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Napoli, Bayern Munich, Porto and Barcelona.

Goals from Mohamed Salah and Divock Origi sealed the Reds’ sixth European title in Spain.

Chelsea’s journey to the Europa League final saw them overcoming PAOK, Bate Borisov, Vidi, Malmo, Dynamo Kyiv, Slavia Prague and Eintracht Frankfurt.

The Blues then defeated Premier League foes Arsenal 4-1 at the Olympic Stadium in Baku.

Eden Hazard led the London club to victory with a brace whereas Olivier Giroud and Pedro also got themselves on the scoresheet.

Alex Iwobi netted the consolation goal for Unai Emery’s side who needed the victory more in order to qualify for this season’s Champions League.

Liverpool and Chelsea will both be part of the Champions League but the winner of the European Super Cup will be going in with more momentum.

The draw for the group stage takes place on August 29 in Monaco.
