Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has confirmed that the Red Devils have suffered two more blows to add to their lengthy injury list. United are vying for a place in Europe next season but will have to make do without another two key stars as they hope to derail Arsenal's Premier League title bid.

Ten Hag confirmed that he will be without both Mason Mount and Luke Shaw for Sunday's clash with Arsenal. The former Chelsea midfielder has spent the majority of the season injured, but returned in March and made his first start since November in the 4-0 thrashing by Crystal Palace.
Shaw sustained a significant muscle injury in February that had threatened his chances of missing the FA Cup final and even Euro 2024 with England, but he returned to training this week in the hopes of featuring in the league, before suffering a setback in his rehabilitation.
“Mason Mount has suffered a new injury and he won’t be available, he's been really unlucky," Ten Hag confirmed in his pre-match press conference, before adding that left-back Luke Shaw will also spend longer than expected on the sidelines: "Luke Shaw had a setback in his process as well but there is still a hope and he will fight to be available for the final."

Two further injuries ensures that the United medical staff, who Ten Hag could be set for a tough conversation with, have had to deal with 66 separate fitness issues this season.
Shaw and Mount have been added to a lengthy injury list that includes Harry Maguire, Raphael Varane, Victor Lindelof, Willy Kambwala, Tyrell Malacia, and Anthony Martial. Casemiro may have to continue playing at centre-back despite a dismal outing at Selhurst Park last time out.

However, Ten Hag will be buoyed by the returns of captain Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford and Lisandro Martinez to training, though the latter will not feature against Arsenal as the Dutchman does not want to risk more injury woes.
"Yesterday, Licha [Martinez] came to me and wanted to play on Sunday against Arsenal but he's not ready yet," Ten Hag revealed. "He needs a little bit more time to go through the process, but he is so desperate.
“Rashy [Rashford], of course, he trained this morning as well, and we have to see how he recovered from this. But I think it looks quite good and I hope he can tomorrow make the next training and then see if he is available for Sunday. Bruno [Fernandes] was on the pitch and Scott McTominay was on the pitch, so there are some players returning."
