However, it is claimed that Spurs may look at alternative wide options that could provide better value for money. Werner, who will turn 29 next season, has scored only two Premier League goals in 13 appearances since returning to England from RB Leipzig.
Postecoglou is expected to be backed with a significant warchest during the off-season, with Spurs backing the manager despite teething problems during his first campaign in North London.
