Klopp announced in January that he is set to leave Liverpool at the end of the season as he is ‘running out of energy’ in the Anfield dugout. Feyenoord’s Arne Slot is now set to replace the German boss, though the club remain focused on ensuring that Klopp bows out with a bang.

The Merseyside outfit will be keen to bounce back to winning ways against West Ham on Saturday, and Moyes has sent his opposite number a message ahead of the match in his programme notes. “English football will sadly be losing Jurgen at the end of the season. So many managers come and go over the years and some of the great ones have found it difficult to manage in the Premier League. Jurgen though, has been up there with the very best, the likes of , , and .

“I have previously been the manager of two of Liverpool’s biggest rival clubs but I have to mark my admiration for Jurgen and his achievements during his time at Anfield. We hope we can ruin one of his final games as Liverpool manager at London Stadium today but we still wish him all the very best for the future.”

Moyes, too, may not be on the Premier League touchline next season, with reports speculating that the higher powers at West Ham are looking to replace the 61-year-old this summer. Sporting’s Ruben Amorim was previously cited as a target for the Hammers but after travelling for talks with the club, the chances of appointing the Portuguese boss appear slim.

Amorim was only linked with replacing Klopp at Liverpool before the Reds decided to aggressively pursue Slot.
