Finnish entrepreneur Zilliacus details his Inter Milan offer
Finnish entrepreneur Zilliacus

Finnish tech entrepreneur Thomas Zilliacus has offered more detail of his past plans to buy Inter Milan.

The Nerazzurri's future is again in doubt with the deadline of the repayment of Oaktree's loan looming.

Zilliacus told the Athletic: "The intention was that my company would put in 100 million euros and the rest would come from other investors because Inter has a lot of debts. There is a bond in circulation of 415 million euros. And then there is a loan of Oaktree: 275 million euros.

"I'm not saying that that was our offer but if we take an indicative figure of one billion, which is close to where I think Inter's value is, and we subtract 275 from those 415 then we are already at almost 700 million euros. This means that if you take over those loans, the actual money that needs to be paid would be just over 300 million euros."

However, Zilliacus did not declare the identity of the partners with which he would undertake the negotiation, admitting only their origin: North America and the Middle East: "I have appointed one of the largest investment banks in the world as a consultant (Goldman Sachs) I worked closely with them and with several important interlocutors in Italy with detailed knowledge of Inter to structure the offer. The offer presented for the purchase of Inter was comprehensive and not devoid of substance."
