Maserati is diving deeper into yachting.

The Italian marque, which already has a high-tech 70-foot trimaran on the high seas, has developed a new all-electric powerboat with marine tech company Vita. Christened Tridente, the new 34-footer combines Maserati’s sleek Made in Italy style with Vita’s pioneering electric powertrain.

Built for day cruising on lakes and coastlines, the Tridentel is equipped with two electric motors capable of collectively producing 600 hp and a battery pack with a capacity of 252 kWh. The vessel can reach 40 knots at full tilt or cruise at 25 knots for up to around 43 miles before needing to be recharged, Maserati says. The battery can be recharged via a DC connection in under one hour, according to the automaker. The Tridentel will have minimal impact on the environment, too, producing zero emissions, noise, and fumes. Think of it as the yachting equivalent of the new Maserati GranCabrio Folgore EV.

The Tridentel also exudes the nameplate’s unmistakable design DNA. The powerboat showcases sleek lines, a lightweight carbon-fiber hull, a striking rose-gold finish, and the Modanese marque’s signature trident logo on the bow. The craftspeople at Hodgdon Yachts, who have been building yachts and tenders in Maine for over 200 years, will spearhead construction to ensure each hull is finished to the highest standards.

Onboard, the cream-colored cockpit can seat up to eight passengers via two captain’s chairs and a U-shaped lounge. To the aft lies a large sun pad and a bathing area with a ladder to the ocean, while a helm station with a large touchscreen sits forward. The yacht also has a sun canopy that can provide shade at anchor. Below deck, the living quarters include one cabin with an en suite.

Maserati isn’t the only luxury automaker dipping a toe in the sustainable yachting sector, of course. Porsche, BMW, and Polestar are just some of the automotive heavyweights working on all-electric sportboats.

The Tridente has a starting price of roughly $2.6 million, easily making it the most expensive machine in the Maserati lineup. The powerboat can be ordered now, with delivery expected in around 10 months. Get yourself a six-figure Folgore and you can drive sans emissions on land and sea.
