If your dream is to be accepted to one of the top colleges, it is worth praising. However, it is not enough just to have a dream. To start study in one of the best colleges, you need to make a lot of effort. You need to work well in advance to be accepted. There are several requirements to comply with if you need to be accepted. One of them is an admission essay, which you can order on the cheap essays website. Let us have a look at other requirements and check how you can work to be the best among the applicants.

  • Take your studies at high school seriously: In the best colleges, they will look at your scores during the entire studying period. In most cases, those students are accepted who have high scores during the entire study period. Of course, there might be some places for those who have been improving over the period. But to be on the safe side, you should study hard to get the best scores as soon as the high school starts.

  • Talk to your counselor about your plans: top colleges have some requirements for the potential students. If you don’t have them, your application will not be considered.

  • Take hard classes and score well in them: top colleges do not consider those applicants who have high grades in standard classes only. If you have an opportunity to take dual-enrolment classes, AP or some other significant honors, use this opportunity. Talk to your teacher about the reasonable number of such classes. Do not exceed with them, otherwise, you might end with being stressed and getting low scores.

  • Participate in extra-curriculum activities: most colleges are looking for students who are not focused on studies only. Sports, for example, are welcomed in all the top colleges.

These are the things you can do at your school. But these measures are not enough to get accepted to one of the top colleges. To be successful, you need to do more.

Taking Tests Is Important

Most colleges will want to see your AP, SAT, or ACT scores. If your parents are not rich enough to pay these tests, start saving now. For example, an AP test costs around 90 USD. Even though it might seem rather high, but most colleges offer additional credits for those who have got a high score in AP.

SAT and ACT tests are not cheap, as well. Plus, add to the expenses the preparation materials, especially if you want the newest books. The older versions of materials can be found online. But the content of the exam is updated constantly, so, we recommend consulting with the college what are the current requirements. Take tests as early as it is possible:

  • ACT can be taken 12 times. You can try yourself in the SAT as many times as you want.

  • Try to take these tests as soon as they are available. It will help you to determine whether you need to retake them or your scores are high enough.

  • Some schools will allow you to send your best results. You might want to give the priority to those schools if not all your results are sufficient.

Talk to your counselor as well to get all the needed support. In some cases, if you are in severe financial need, you might get discounts on exams or financial assistance to take them. Stay after lessons to get assistance if you struggle with some materials. Most teachers will help willingly.

Finally, write your admission essay, your application, and submit all the needed documentation. If you have done everything correctly during the high-school, you will be accepted.
