De Beers, the world’s largest rough diamond producer by value, is making some changes to its executive committee, which will see it bringing in Alessandra Berridge from parent company Anglo American (LON:AAL).

Effective February 1, Neil Ventura, currently executive vice-president, auction sales, will become executive vice-president, strategy and innovation. While Paul Rowley, presently executive vice-president, global sightholder sales, will become executive vice-president, diamond trading.

The diamond giant will appoint Berridge, now the lead legal counsel for M&A at Anglo American, as the company’s executive vice-president, commercial and partnerships. The new role was created to manage commercial ventures and partnerships
