GB News: Nana Akua and Alex Cairns clash during debate
GB News presenter Nana Akua couldn't hide her delight at the fact the channel had once again surpassed Sky News in the ratings. Taking to X she posted a selfie while beaming broadly with other presenters.
"We’ve done it again!! For the second month in a row @GBNEWS have beaten @SkyNews on average views!! Who’s laughing now. Thank you to those who have supported us," she wrote.
Fans of Nana's eponymous show, whch airs on Saturdays and Sundays on the channel were quick to share their delight in the comments.
"Well deserved. Haven’t watched Sky News or BBC News since GBNews began. Keep up the good work," one wrote. "Brilliant! Congratulations @Nanaakua1 and @GBNEWS WELL DESERVED!" a second gushed.
A third chimed in: "Well done team. It's well deserved we only listen to your channel now for unbiased news and views." A fourth added: "This is such good news, I’m know you will all keep up the amazing work you have been doing, well done all of you."
"I only started watching it a year ago and now watch it most days. My only concern is the news and weather repeats too often so I do tend to move on once that becomes too monotonous. A great show team," another shared.
Meanwhile a sixth revealed: "You are our 'Go To' Channel every day. You're more like Family now."
Accordng to the latest BARB data GB News averaged 66,129 live views during a 20-hour period between 6am and 2am in December.
It surpasses Sky News' 63,452 average views by a margin of 2,677. That is a 4 per cent difference between the channels.

GB News Head of Programming Ben Briscoe issued a statement commenting on the channel's success.
“These figures demonstrate the continued and unstoppable growth of the People’s Channel," he said.
“Not only are rising numbers of people switching to GB News, but they are also sticking with us well.
“We are looking forward to welcoming more and more viewers and listeners to GB News throughout this year and beyond.”
