Silent Witness: Jack and Nikki caught kissing in the office
Emilia Fox and David Caves returned as recently engaged couple Dr Nikki Alexander and Jack Hodgson in BBC's Silent Witness tonight (January 6).
The episode, which was the first part of a two part story, opened with the decomposed body of an elderly woman being found in a cave, which led to an investigation into murky goings on in a care home.
However it wasn't the disturbing subject matter that had viewers talking but rather Jack and Nikki's laissez-faire attitude to making out in the office.
Previously quite private about their relationship just minutes in to the new series they shared a passionate moment in the workplace before being disturbed by a delivery man.
Viewers had very mixed feelings about the out of character action and took to X to share their thoughts."Ha! Here goes guys .. week 1 of 10 of the rollercoaster that is #SilentWitness. Already the kissing is getting on my nerves," wrote one.
Another questioned where the writers were getting their inspiration from commentng: "Sorry but i refuse to believe the #silentwitness writers don’t just pick out fanfic (fan fiction) from AO3 because WHAT DO YOU MEAN they just got caught snogging in the office?!"(sic)
A third enthused: "I'm not dreaming this right? We're starting this season with office flirting??!!?!??! And a near af make out scene okay #silentwitness."(sic)
A fourth excitedly chimed in writing in all capitals: "OH MY ENGAGED LOVES I’VE MISSED YOU SO MUCH #silentwitness."
"Woah snogging in the office #silentwitness," a fifth added. Meanwhile a sixth queried what they saw as a plot hole. "Lol so they snog in the office but don’t have a peck to say goodbye?? #Silentwitness."(sic)
