BBC Local Radio stations experienced a technical issue on Friday night (January 3), leading to periods of silence throughout the network.
The mishap occurred during Late Night Jo, which is broadcast on 40 radio stations across England and is hosted by Jo Good.
Late Night Jo continued for 20 minutes, after which there was a 15-minute period of silence. This was followed by a broadcast from 5 Live that filled the remainder of the night on the majority of stations.
BBC Radio London was the sole broadcaster to air the complete show, although it experienced technical difficulties.
These issues led to a seven-minute segment of 5 Live being aired at 10:40 PM and a one-minute interruption of an interview by 5 Live at 10:52 PM.

There was also the absence of a news bulletin at 11 PM. Aware of the issues, Joe apologised to listeners, jokingly citing the reason for the technical blunder as the cold weather.
A BBC spokesperson said: "Local radio output was disrupted late last night due to a technical problem. All services resumed to normal this morning."
This wasn't the only technical issue the BBC suffered on Friday as they accidentally aired a private conversation between two Newsline presenters.
During Friday’s instalment of BBC News at One, presenter Anna Foster welcomed viewers to a live broadcast of the programme which featured the latest national and international news.
But as she shared an update about adult social care, the journalist was abruptly cut from screens.

However, before she could finish her sentence, the broadcast cut to two other Newsline presenters having a conversation.
The duo appeared to be preparing for their broadcast while a member of production could be seen adjusting a seat behind the famous newsdesk.
They were seemingly greeting each other for the first time in 2025 as one waved and said: “Hello, how are you? Happy New Year.”
However, before they could delve into their conversation, someone off-camera could be heard saying: “Sorry Jenny,” before cutting back to Anna.
Anna seemed to be unaware of the unexpected disruption to viewers as she continued to discuss the government's plans for adult social care.
