Emmerdale's Ruby Fox-Milligan, played by Beth Cordingly, has been living on tenterhooks since her father Anthony Fox, portrayed by Nicholas Day, made his appearance in the village.

A special episode that aired recently revealed through flashbacks why Ruby is so terrified of her father, showing that Anthony had sexually abused her during her teenage years.

Despite this dark secret, Anthony has managed to integrate himself into the family with his charming demeanour and interest in Ruby's husband Caleb Milligan's Dingle family, successfully maintaining his "nice guy" facade.

However, upcoming scenes will show Ruby secretly conducting a DNA test for her daughter Steph Milligan, played by Georgia Jay, after managing to obtain a hair sample.

She shares her doubts with Chas Dingle, played by Lucy Pargeter. Meanwhile, Cain Dingle, portrayed by Jeff Hordley, is disturbed by Anthony's plans to settle in the village due to his knowledge of Anthony's affair with Ruby.

Ruby narrowly avoids being caught collecting Caleb's DNA when he returns home early. Later, Anthony confides in Caleb about his health issues, requesting him to keep it confidential.

A spa day brings Ruby and Steph closer, but Ruby continues to be anxious about her secret. Their relationship faces another hurdle when Steph discovers an old photo from Ruby's pregnancy, leading to tension between the mother and daughter, reports Leeds Live. Anthony advises Steph to be patient with Ruby, hinting at hidden complexities.

In other news, Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) is unwavering in his mission to locate his missing teenage daughter April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan). Encouraged by those around him, the Woolpack chef decides to record an appeal video which quickly goes viral.

However, Mary Goskirk (Louise Jameson) attempts to shield Marlon from the barrage of hateful messages that start pouring in. Upon discovering them, Marlon contemplates removing the appeal video, regretting not seeking proper advice before initiating it.

Ultimately, Marlon stands firm and chooses not to take down the video. He and Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) remain united in the face of the online hostility.

Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 at 7.30pm and available to stream from 7am on ITVX
