James Martin guest forced to apologise after revealing family secret 'She'll kill me!'

James Martin was back in his kitchen for a Christmas themed show on Saturday morning (December 14) on ITV. The celeb chef was joined by Mike Reid who planned to make a Christmas pudding.

But James was soon left laughing when the chef revealed his recipe to be a family secrect.

Introducing his guest chef, James said: "What are you going to be doing then? This is from your travels, but from your family this recipe.

"Yeah this is my heritage, this is my Christmas," Mike replied.

He added: "It's a Caribbean Christmas pudding, it's my grandmother's recipe which was passed down from her mum and so on."

James chipped in: "There's a little story with this recipe that you weren't supposed to give it away and now you're about to give it away on national TV."

The pair started laughing as Mike confirmed: "My mum is not particularly happy, so mum sorry."

"So this is the last time you'll see Mike Reid," James joked.

Mike added: "But it's too good not to share. The Charibbean version, and this version in particular is so much lighter than a traditional English Christmas pudding.

"There's no suet, it's not heavy and there are lots of fruits."

James chimed in: "This is something different", as the pair continued to prepare the ingredients.
