Strictly: Pete Wicks says he was trying too hard at the beginning

Strictly Come Dancing's Sarah Hadland and her dance partner Vito Coppola have been hit with a devastating setback just hours before the grand finale.

Bookmakers have been predicting the weekly eliminations throughout the series, and their forecasts have been mainly spot-on. This Saturday, the final four celebrities will grace the dance floor one last time before the champion is announced.

Despite Sarah's consistent performances impressing the judges, she may lose out on the coveted Glitterball Trophy to Chris McCausland. Betway's Mike Reading has analysed the latest odds ahead of the Strictly Come Dancing final, indicating that Chris is the frontrunner.

Mike revealed: "Chris McCausland has been an absolute star this series, and the odds suggest he's ready to quickstep his way to victory. Priced up at 1/12, he's the shortest-priced favourite to win the final in Strictly history.

"The latest odds give him and dance partner Dianne a staggering 92 percent chance of lifting the Glitterball Trophy on Saturday night. It's clear that their journey together has captured the nation's hearts," reports Wales Online.

"This weekend, the judges will score the dances as usual, but their marks won't influence the result-it's entirely in the hands of the public. With Chris's devoted fans behind him, anything less than a win would be a major upset!"

Mike added: "Meanwhile, JB Gill has been turning up the heat in recent weeks and looks like Chris's closest competition albeit at a distant 14/1. Tasha found herself in the dance-off last weekend despite finishing second on the leaderboard, suggesting her public support is wavering, and she finds herself the big outsider at a price of 25/1."

The show faced an emotional moment last weekend when Pete Wicks bowed out of the competition.

Pete, alongside his professional partner Jowita Przystal, encountered their first and final dance-off against Tasha Ghouri and her partner Aljaz Skorjanec.

Despite their efforts, three judges voted against Pete and Jowita, and they were eliminated, narrowly missing the chance to compete in the upcoming finale.

Pete reflected on his time in the contest: "It's been beautiful! It's been wild. I've been quite honest about the fact that I didn't necessarily want to do this [Strictly] in the first place, but everyone else wanted me to do it, and I am so, so glad that I did it!"

Emphasising the joy of participation over perfection, he added: "You don't always have to be the best, but if you enjoy something then why shouldn't you have a go at it? I've tried my best from day one, I said I was in for a penny, in for a pound and I've done it, it's been beautiful."

Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturday at 6pm on BBC One.
