GB News' Ellie Costello announces colleague is going on maternity
GB News viewers took to social media with a warning for the programme after presenter Ellie Costello was forced to apologise for a distracting blunder.
After speaking to former senior military intelligence officer Phillip Ingram about Prince Andrew's “links“ to a Chinese spy, her co-star Stephen Dixon instructed Ellie: "Would you sit still?"
Smirking at the awkward malfunction, the presenter responded: "I'm sorry my chair keeps sinking, I was basically on the floor."
Stephen remarked: "Did you see that link about half an hour ago she was basically down here, we're trying hard not to laugh during a very serious interview but she was just going down."
Although Ellie laughed and joked: "My head was on the desk," viewers failed to see the funny side as they took to social media with complaints.
@CatherineDowney stated: "Why don't gb sort the chairs out? I constantly hear the presenters saying they are sinking! Just buy new chairs."
A second viewer fumed: "So no-one at GBN has had the gumption to get a replacement chair?! It should have been sorted out MONTHS ago when the furniture was supplied! Useless."
While @PatrickZen hit back at the show offering cash prizes and added: "Re your chairs, While you're giving money away how about buying some decent chairs that don't sink."
Among the backlash, an amused @Justynfilmstar joked: "Wow the furniture speaks out."

However, the sinking chairs embarrassingly struck again during their sports round-up with Paul Coyte and their guest former football player Clive Allen.
Just moments before they were about to introduce the star, he interrupted to announce: “I’m disappearing.”
The presenters struggled to hold back their laughter as Stephen remarked: “We’ve got a legend in the studio, and he’s sinking his chair’s sinking.”
Confirming that GB News seemingly had a plethora of malfunctioning furniture, Ellie added: “He’s also sinking in his chair, don’t worry Clive it happens to lot of us.
