BBC Breakfast suffer tech blunder during weather segment
A BBC Breakfast star suffered an embarrassing mishap live on TV today. Weather presenter Matt Taylor was standing in for Carol Kirkwood on the BBC show this morning, with Sally Nugent and Jon Kay hosting the programme.
During the show, they featured multiple news items including frozen overseas pensions as well as Kevin Sinfield's 230-mile run to raise money and awareness for Motor Neurone Disease.
In the studio, Matt was quick to explain to viewers that there would be some chilly temperatures ahead, warning there would be in drops in temperatures overnight - before he suffered a technical blunder.
As Jon discussed the chilly weather, Matt tried to get his weather charts up on the screen but they failed to load. He told them: "We're flip-flopping from one extreme to another at the moment but another cold one this morning, a temperature drop through the night," before pressuing the button again - but it didn't work.

"Very good morning to you. Frost this morning, mainly across parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland, the far north of England though," he began to tell viewers of what they could expect from the weather.
"Some of the coldest spots are indeed in Scotland and Northern Ireland right now, we've got temperatures right down to munis five degrees," he added. However, he had to pause due to the technical issue.
Addressing the problem, he said: "Let's see if we can get these charts to work, it doesn't really want to work."
Sally referenced the issue, saying: "I think you would have gotten away with that if we hadn't just mentioned it," before Jon quipped: "I think it's so cold your computer graphics have frozen. Get the de-icer out!"
At the end of the report, Matt gave an update on the weather for tomorrow. He said: "Tomorrow morning, it will be a cold start. I'll have full details on all of that and hopefully get the graphics to work in about half an hour."
Matt took to Twitter earlier in the day to confirm he would be on the show instead of Carol. Sharing that he was joining Jon and Sally today, he wrote on social media: "Good morning! Great to be back with the @BBCBreakfast family in Salford today. All the weather details you need to plan your day in the way from 6am."
