Saturday Kitchen fans left fuming as A list star fails to remove hat while on BBC show

Fans of Saturday Kitchen were left fuming at their television sets during the latest episode as actor Luke Evans failed to remove his hat.

The A-list star, who is famous for starring in The Hobbit, Beauty and the Beast and The Girl on the Train, to name a few, appeared on the BBC programme to cook up a delicious dish with chef James Martin while he discussed his new book.

Wearing a white shirt, grey cardigan and chinos, Luke also accessorised his look with a tweed flat cap on Saturday morning (Novembr 23).

But his outfit proved to be a distraction for some viewers at home who were annoyed that he kept his cap on while inside the BBC studio. Heading over to social media platform X in their droves, fans shared their greviances as they urged him to remove it.

One viewer said: "Take your cap off or you won’t feel the benefit when you go outside…"

Another fan compared Luke to a character in BBC's hit drama Peaky Blinders and said: "Hey Peaky Blinder wannabe! Take off your hat inside!"

A third confused viewer wrote: "Who wears a hat indoors?" "Men wearing caps indoors is one of my pet hates," a fourth shared.

While another penned: "Luke Evans deserves Food Hell for wearing a hat indoors. Plus, oxtail sounds much nicer than a sandwich."

Despite the backlash from viewers at home, the screen star received positive feedback for his new book, Luke Evans Boy From the Valleys.

James asked: "And you've also done an audiobook, right?

Luke replied: "Yeah, I did the audiobook which was really fun because I didn't even have to look at the book when I was recording it because I knew it so well. So, my friends said it's just like listening to you tell a story."

Wine expert Helen McGinn, who was also on the show at the time, chimed in and said: "Well, I read it, and I could hear you while I was reading it.

"It really is an extraordinary book!"
