Outlander: Season seven part two teased in trailer
Outlander enthusiasts have been left stunned as the exhilarating new trailer for season seven, part two dropped, unveiling a major plot twist.
The gripping cliffhanger at the end of the first segment of the acclaimed Starz show's current season saw Jamie Fraser (played by Sam Heughan) and his time-travelling partner Claire (Caitriona Balfe) ecstatic to make their way back to Scotland amid the tumult of the American Revolution.
Yet, revelations in the new footage spell trouble as it shows that the cherished duo must endure yet another separation when Lord John Grey (David Berry) implores Claire to come and attend to his ailing nephew, Henry (Harry Jarvis).
A visibly distressed Lord Grey later shares with Claire some distressing intelligence concerning her spouse.
The rumour mills whir with speculation that the valiant Highlander has fallen while they were apart, but Claire refuses to accept this, reports the Daily Record.
"I would feel it in my heart if it had stopped," she declares. "Mine would stop too."
While there have been certain deviations made to the series from its source material, in the original text, Claire faces imminent arrest and is forced to wed Lord Grey to secure her safety.
However, her new groom remains besotted with her rumored deceased Scottish heartthrob, making their pragmatic union something they must carefully conceal.
Audiences are left wondering, will Jamie truly meet his end in season seven?
Or can the time-travelling medic save the day and find her way back to her beloved Highland warrior?
Viewers are already mesmerised by the latest teaser for season seven, part two, with one YouTube aficionado hailing it as "one of if not the most well done trailers I've ever seen."
Another enthusiast gushed: "This looks absolutely incredible! I can hardly stand waiting!"
Meanwhile, on Reddit, those more familiar with Gabaldon's novels are buzzing over the thrilling plots yet to unfold.
