Soap expert Sharon talks about what's coming up on Corrie

As another episode of This Morning aired on ITV, viewers threatened to switch off after the show aired a soap segment with expert Sharon Marshall.

The soap expert regularly appears on the morning programme to offer the latest gossip and spoilers in the world of Coronation Street, Emmerdale, EastEnders and Hollyoaks.

Sharon appeared on the sofa as she spoke to stand-in hosts Craig Doyle and Josie Gibson. However, fans of the show weren't happy with the segment as they flocked to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their grievances.

One person expressed: "Cannot stand this 15 mins of soap guff every week. Sure i am not the only one. Gonna go do some washing up. #thismorning."

Another fan penned: "What a load of old c**p, they really are completely out of ideas aren't they on #ThisMorning ffs."

Somebody else wrote: "Obviously let down by a guest and desperately filling out the time. #ThisMorning."

Yet another penned: "Time for nicotine fix while this soap s**t on me thinks #thismorning." (sic)

A fifth unimpressed ITV viewer said: "Sharon thinks soap operas are real life #Thismorning."

While a sixth added: "She thinks soaps are real, they're not, they're s***e #ThisMorning."

Josie and Craig took over hosting duties from regular hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley as they enjoy time off for the Bank Holiday weekend.

The pair were joined live from the top of the Empire State building by Princess Beatrice, in her very first live television interview.

Sian Welby discussed the latest showbiz gossip, while Juliet Sears cooked up some sweet treats in the kitchen.

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV1 and ITVX.
