Emmerdale's Ash Palmisciano and Natalie Ann Jamieson have opened up about what lies ahead for their characters now that they are married. Matty Barton and Amy Waytt finally pledged their troth in tonight's (April 17) episode after overcoming many hurdles with the bride being given away by her foster father Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell).
However, despite the fairytale wedding, it appears they may not have a happy ending. Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk and other media in advance of the big day, Ash teased: " What's gonna happen next, obviously, like all good soaps it isn't always playing sailing."
Natalie agreed chiming in: "I'd love to see them going the distance, but it's soap and things are going to happen. When things happen, that often tends to make people go stronger.
"Not every huge event rips couples apart, so hopefully when things are thrown at them, they can come out the other side of it. Because it's quite fun working with Ash!"
Returning the compliment, Ash said: "It's nice working with you mate, really lovely and comfortable.
"You never know what's around the corner and things will impact them. With the importance of the story and the representation, it's a solid message there. But who knows?"
Clearly looking forward to what lies ahead Natalie laughed: "We're always here for the drama!"
The couple have a hugely complicated family tree that is sure to contribute to many of their twists and turns.

Reflecting on this Ash ruminated: "I think it's really interesting because Amy has a son, Kyle, and we're in Soapland so he's actually Matty's step-brother as well!
"My stepdad Cain has been with my fiancée, so that's a bit of a thing, but we've moved past it.
"It's really lovely because Kyle and Matty have this nice relationship now that is both step-parent-y and step-brother-y, so as a family unit it feels very fresh and very current.
"It's really lovely to see them as a young family finding their feet, which has been really nice. Maybe there's more of that to come, hopefully," he said.
Emmerdale is on ITV weekdays at 7.30pm with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
