Strictly viewers sent into frenzy as unexpected appearance from pro delights fans

Strictly: Amy Dowden features in group number at the start of show

On Saturday night, Strictly Come Dancing's grand finale will see one star-studded contestant lift the coveted Glitterball trophy, after months of dazzling on the dance floor. BBC viewers can look forward to watching the finalists perform thrice, including a breath-taking show dance.

JLS sensation JB Gill took the top spot last weekend with his stellar 79 points, closely followed by Tasha Ghouri, who accumulated a commendable 75 for her dances. Yet, they must once more rise to the occasion, bringing their A-game to win over the judges and the viewing public at home.

Speaking of the current series, the legendary Anton Du Beke remarked: "It's been such a magical series this year, up there with the best ever! As always, I had a fabulous time at Blackpool and I've enjoyed the themed weeks enormously.

"Strictly Come Dancing has been such a major part of my life for 20 years and I feel very privileged to have been here, alongside Tess and Craig, since day one."

The opening act during the finale saw the professionals set the stage alight with an incredible group dance. Amy Dowden's appearance was caught by eagle-eyed BBC fans, sparking exuberance across social networks, reports the Mirror.

One viewer expressed: "Makes me sad to see Amy there without JB but so happy for Lauren." Another shared: "Lovely to see Amy in the pro number."

A tweet read: "Yay, Amy dancing at the final #Strictly" While another fan exclaimed: "Amy's here!" Someone else commented, overflowing with joy: "So amazing seeing Amy back on the dance floor."

Someone else expressed their confusion, adding: "Amy in the pro number.. I thought she wasn't well enough to do the rest of the series." While someone else took to Twitter to comment: "Great to see Amy in the professional dance #strictly."

As fans watched the group performance, some wished: "I love this opening dance but I wish Amy was in the Blue too."

Observing a costume distinction, viewers wanted Amy in blue, aligning with the finalists and pro partners, rather than the standout gold of the other stars.

Initially, JB was Amy's celebrity partner on the show, but as the series progressed, she had to step back because of an injury. Now back in the spotlight after battling breast cancer, her absence earlier in the series saw Lauren Oakley stepping into Amy's dancing shoes alongside JB.

JB found revelations during his Strictly journey, sharing: "It's intense, but it's made me realise how versatile people can be."

He relayed Lauren's inspiring words, adding: "Lauren always says, 'When you think you have nothing left to give, you've actually got another 40%' That's something I've been reminded of. Oh and that Lauren is an incredible dancer! She doesn't like to admit though but she's sick!"

The question on everyone's lips is, Will JB triumphantly lift the Glitterball trophy this season?

Strictly Come Dancing is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
