GB News presenter annihilates Keir Starmer in scathing 10-word put down

Stephen Dixon slams Keir Starmer's Brexit 'reset' plans

GB News presenter Stephen Dixon, along with his co-host Anne Diamond, shared some stern remarks about Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer during the breakfast show.

This comes after it was revealed that Sir Keir and President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen agreed to hold regular EU-UK leader summits as part of his plans to reset the UK’s relationship with the EU.

Dixon admitted: “I have real concerns about this because whether you supported Brexit or not it back to this blooming old argument.

“Whether you supported it or not there is a democratic decision and therefore shouldn’t that be carried through?”

The broadcaster added: “Well, Peter [Spencer] quite rightly says ‘we’re not reversing Brexit, we’re not going back into the EU’, but we are doing all these other things which basically means we may as well be back in.”

Diamond interjected: “What worries me is that we’re going to have to pay a price for that, I mean look at the attitude of the rest of the European Union when we did pull out.

“It was very much as though they wanted to punish us, why would they indulge us by giving us the bits back that we want like freedom of movement for students.”

Miguel Berger, the German ambassador to the UK, told GB News’ Chopper’s Political Podcast that the EU’s agenda for the meeting will be the start of “talking about the whole reset”.

He also said the question of whether the UK can re-enter the Erasmus student exchange programme will be on the table, as well as discussing a security pact with the EU.

“There will be many things on the agenda,” Mr Berger said. “The security pact which is proposed by the British Government - so cooperation on a wide area of topics respecting obviously the red lines.

“And also the question of Erasmus programme - where the United Kingdom in the last minute opted out of it so all of these things will be again on the table.”

When questioned about whether the youth mobility scheme will be on the table, he said: “It will be included.”

Although Sir Keir has insisted the UK will not rejoin the EU, he has pledged to “make Brexit work” by renegotiating the deal agreed upon by former prime minister Boris Johnson and pursue closer co-operation, particularly on defence, security and trade.
