BBC Breakfast 'drops hint' for Strictly Come Dancing 2024 winner ahead of final

Chris McCausland named bookmakers favourite to win Strictly

Strictly Come Dancing comes to an end on Saturday evening (December 14) and one celebrity will lift the all important glitterball trophy.

The grand finale of the 22nd series will see the four remaining couples take to the shiny floor for the last time in their bid to impress the judges and Strictly viewers.

Eleven couples have already fallen, with Pete Wicks and Jowita Przystał the latest to depart the competition during the semi-final, leaving only the best still standing.

The judges, Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke and Craig Revel Horwood will be marking the routines but it will be the public who pick the winning couple in a live vote.

On Saturday morning, BBC Breakfast teased which celeb and professional dancer will win as their final performances in the ballroom have arrived.

A reporter said: "Chris McCausland is Strictly's first blind contestant, and the comedian has emerged as bookmakers' favourite to win.

"He and his professional partner Dianne Buswell will reprise their couple choice routine to the John Lennon classic Instant Karma, which went viral on social media."

Chris and Dianne are riding high with the bookmakers as the comedian, 47, stands at 1/12 to win the competition, according to comparison site Oddschecker.

The couple will battle it out on the dancefloor against actress Sarah Hadland and Vito Coppola, JLS star JB Gill and Lauren Oakley and former Love Island contestant Tasha Ghouri and pro partner Aljaž Škorjanec.

JB and Lauren currently stand in second place to win with odds of 20/1, while Sarah and Vito are third favourite to win at 45/1.

Meanwhile, Tasha and Aljaž have dipped with odds of 66/1 to finish in fourth place.

During the two-and-a-half hour Strictly final, the four couples will perform three routines: two of their previous dances from the series, and a newly-created show dance.

Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturday at 6pm on BBC One.
