Emmerdale Marlon Dingle star admits tragic April twist left him 'very upset'
Mark Charnock has teased a devastating twist regarding April Windsor after she goes missing on Christmas Day in Emmerdale.
Marlon (played by Mark) and April have clashed in recent weeks after the teenager discovered how her mum, Donna Windsor (Verity Rushworth) really died.
April has been lashing out and the relationship between her and her dad only deteriorates when Marlon discovers she has been trying to buy cannabis.
April continues to spiral after finding out that Marlon warned Ross (Mike Parr) to stay away from her and turns to alcohol.
A drunk April makes a spectacle of herself on Christmas Eve and Marlon unleashes fury at his daughter when she accidentally spills wine over Donna’s memory card.

So when it came up I thought, 'Yes. Great'.
"I was very upset reading the scripts. It's hopefully going to be a moving story but the scripts were so strong, you could see the writer's personal investment into a lot of the stuff.
He added: "Speaking to producers, it's a huge thing. I can't speak beyond Christmas but it's the most unimaginable thing. It's horrible."
Mark, who has played Marlon since 1996, warned: "This storyline escalates, this is just the beginning."

On Christmas Day, Rhona (Zoe Henry) gifts Marlon the reassembled mug that he dropped not long after he had a stroke.
Rhona has words printed on it which say: "Things that are broken can always be mended."
This prompts the chef to realise his relationship with April can be salvaged, and so he heads upstairs to make amends.
Mark expressed how Marlon feels in that terrifying moment, saying: "She's gone. There's that moment where you can only imagine. It's not like a building horror, it's a full 10 because there's nothing right about her empty room on Christmas Day.
"No matter what they've been through, there's no way that room could or should be empty. And she's gone."
The soap star added: "It's unimaginable horror that's instant and full."
