'Masterpiece' film with 'standout performance from Daniel Craig' airing free on TV tonight

Knives Out: Thrilling trailer for murder mystery film

This weekend, viewers can enjoy the 'wildly entertaining' film Knives Out for free as it will be aired on television this Saturday night.

It will be broadcast on Channel 4 and Channel 4 HD at 10.25pm on November 23. The film, which is set to have a second sequel on Netflix soon, is hailed as one of the best whodunnit murder mysteries ever brought to the big screen.

Knives Out was released in 2019 and was both written and directed by Rian Johnson, who previously worked on Star Wars: The Last Jedi - a film that divided the franchise's hardcore fanbase.

However, there was no disputing the success of Knives Out, which raked in over $300 million at the box office, received nominations for a BAFTA, Oscar and Golden Globe in the Best Original Screenplay category, and boasts an impressive Rotten Tomatoes score of 97%.

The film features Daniel Craig in the role of renowned Detective Benoit Blanc, a stark contrast to his James Bond character. Craig's accent in the film became a talking point among fans, and he stars alongside future Bond co-star Ana de Armas.

The star-studded cast also includes Chris Evans, Toni Collette, Jamie Lee Curtis, Christopher Plummer, Michael Shannon, Don Johnson and LaKeith Stanfield. Fans of Star Wars will also recognise Frank Oz, the voice behind Yoda, in the film.

The film's enticing synopsis promises a tantalising experience: "The circumstances surrounding the death of crime novelist Harlan Thrombey are mysterious, but there's one thing that renowned Detective Benoit Blanc knows for sure...everyone in the wildly dysfunctional Thrombey family is a suspect. Now, Blanc must sift through a web of lies and red herrings to uncover the truth."

Audiences have utterly embraced the film, with one viewer exclaimed in a review: "Incredibly casted, and wildly entertaining, 'Knives Out' is a fantastic murder mystery! The story is excellent and extremely funny. There are a lot of strong themes regarding wealth and privilege that are very well done. And above all, Daniel Craig is absolutely hilarious in this."

Daniel Craig received many plaudits for his performance as the detective from critics and fans alike. One posted online saying: "Knives Out is a thoroughly enjoyable murder mystery that had me on the edge of my seat until the very end. The ensemble cast is fantastic, with standout performances from Daniel Craig as the sly detective Benoit Blanc."
