Emmerdale: Tom King tears wedding picture with Belle

Emmerdale's Belle Dingle (played by Eden Taylor-Draper) becomes even more isolated in next week's episodes as her husband Tom King (James Chase) continues his campaign of abuse towards her. Official spoilers released by ITV show that his insidious behaviour worsens as he also takes control of her finances.

While ensuring that she is kept apart from her support network, he opens a joint account for the couple. This gives him control of her money making her even more vulnerable to his control.

Despite his best efforts however, Belle still has some outside sources in her life and he is furious when he finds her chatting to Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick) and Mandy Dingle (Lisa Reilly) on the puppy cam. As he listens in to what they believe is a private conversation he hears the trio playfully teasing him behind his back.

He furiously listens to every word with his anger festering. When he arrives home unexpectedly, Belle’s on edge and relieved when he is pleasant to Mandy and Lydia.

However, given his previous form, she is worried that he is being insincere. Her fears are justified as Tom’s mood turns menacing when they leave and the newlywed finds herself in a terrifying situation when he turns on her once again.

This latest abuse follows the dramatic dinner party episode which aired this Tuesday (May 7).

During the special instalment of the soap, viewers were treated to two different viewpoints of the same evening.

Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) and Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) joined Belle and Tom for a meal that highlighted the simmering conflicts in both their relationships.

While Rhona and Marlon's issues were laid bare publicly, Tom and Belle managed to maintain their facade of a happy marriage.

Despite this, the show cleverly managed to turn that on its head and also showed the day from Belle and Tom’s point of view.

This gave a glimpse into the terrifying reality of their day-to-day life behind closed doors.

Emmerdale has worked closely with domestic violence charity Refuge on the disturbing storyline which has been running for several months now.
