Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt's 'The Fall Guy' Projected To Open With $28 Million USD

Universal's The Fall Guy is looking to open with $28 million USD in its first three days — falling short of its expectations that estimated the title to debut with at least $30 million USD.

According to Variety, the action-romance earned $10.4 million USD from 4,002 locations on its opening day and includes $3 million USD from preview screenings. The film, which stars Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt, was made with a $1390 million USD production budget and is director David Leitch's most expensive project ouside of his Fast & Furious spinoff. Reports add that Universal has been unsuccessful in utilizing Gosling's celebrated Barbie role, but The Fall Guy could surpass expectations if it's able to stand strong throughout its time in cinemas.

The Fall Guy is based on an '80s TV series of the same name and stars Gosling as a stuntman and Blunt as a rising director. The pair, who once had a relationship, team up "to investigate a conspiracy involving the disappearance of a movie star" played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson.
