The Chase star Jenny Ryan emotional after going with her 'heart' in huge life change

Jenny Ryan gets emotional on Celebrity Escape to the Country

We're used to seeing her in a more serious avatar as The Vixen on The Chase, but Jenny Ryan showed a more vulnerable side as she got emotional on an episode of Celebrity Escape to the Country. The 42-year-old and her partner Thom were shown properties by host Jules Hudson in rural Lancashire after they made the tough decision to leave London.

The pair have been living in the capital as it's easy for Jenny to get to filming for The Chase, but the ITV star wants to get back to her Northern roots by moving to the countryside. She reflected: "This is about me moving to what I call closer to home. London is where I have a home, but my home and my heart are always back up north."

After viewing a stunning property which comes with it's own expanse of woodland in a former quarry as Jenny shared her thoughts on the home. She explained: "This feels like the beginning of a fairytale. It's astonishing, I'm hearing the bird song now and I know my stepdad would be in his element here because he, to say he's a keen bird watcher is an understatement.

"He's travelled the world looking at birds. He would love that. It's something we've done as as a family for quite a few years and it's part of going back and enjoying nature.

"There's so much potential for that for sharing a new stage of life with this property because it's got something for all of us and we can share it out more equally." At this point, the television personality got emotional as Jules asked: "Is there a bit of emotion in your voice?"

Jenny responded: "Yeah," as her boyfriend said: "You're really taken with it aren't you?"

She looked around the enchanting woodland before adding: "This is what's got me, the woodlands, it feels like we're back in time a little bit."

At the end of the episode, Jenny spoke about her "homecoming" and explained that the process felt like coming home.

The ITV star expressed: "This is where I was formed and it's only coming back that I've realised how much I miss it when I'm away."

Jenny was taken by one of the properties in particular as she said she wanted to bring her parents to see it as she values their input.

In an update at the end of the episode, Jules revealed on the BBC show that Jenny went away and had plenty of discussions with her parents.

She along with Thom and her parents have lined up a second viewing of the house in Lancashire after being impressed with the property.
