Rachel Burden has been inundated with supportive messages after appearing on the latest edition of BBC Breakfast. The presenter was on hand to read today’s bulletin (April 28) alongside journalist Roger Johnson.

On Sunday, Rachel, 49, welcomed weekend viewers to the BBC morning programme wearing a bold, summer-inspired gown. The dress featured a plunging V neckline, short sleeves and a unique all-over red floral pattern.

Following her introduction to the show, fans took to social media to praise both the star’s TV attire and appearance. One viewer took to Twitter, formerly known as X and wrote: “@rachelburden morning back on the sofa again. Like the dress very summery.”

A second typed: “I love waking up to @rachelburden. She needs to be on breakfast TV more often. Take note @BBCBreakfast.” Another said: “Purrresenting kitten @rachelburden back on the Breakfast sofa! Paws crossed for an early miaowning. Pop or dangle to brighten the day.”

The Marlow newsreader and reporter began her career at BBC Radio Suffolk before later joining BBC Radio Bristol.

In 2003, she joined BBC Radio 5 Live and made her debut on BBC Breakfast as a relief presenter 12 years later.

Earlier this month, Rachel admitted having a fourth child at the age of 41 was a “really selfish thing to do”.

The star claimed she was “arrogant” to think another pregnancy with her journalist spouse Luke Mendham would be just as easy as her previous three.

Appearing on Gabby Logan’s MidPoint podcast, the mother said: “I had three very sort of straightforward pregnancies and I made the terribly arrogant assumption I'd have a fourth baby and it would be fine and straightforward.

"And I think sometimes when I reflect on it, I think it was a really selfish thing to do. I came from a big family - I really wanted a big family.

"I had that moment where Luke and I sat around a table when the third child had gone to school and thought, 'Oh, this is so boring'."

She revealed that as her fourth child developed something wasn’t “quite right”.

She was later taken to hospital where she was diagnosed with pre-eclampsia - a condition that causes high blood pressure during pregnancy that can be serious if left untreated.

Just 36 hours after her diagnosis, Rachel prematurely gave birth to her fourth child Henry.

The couple, who tied the knot in 2004, also share another son Sam, as well as daughters Rose and Alice.

You can tune into BBC Breakfast every day at 6am on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
